Vinyl Vehicle Wraps

Cast vinyl wraps that change your vehicle's colour and protect the factory paint underneath. Hundreds of colours, multiple finishes, reversible when you're ready for something new.

Want your car to look completely different without touching the factory paint? Vinyl vehicle wraps are how it's done. Our Auckland vehicle wrapping team uses cast vinyl films that mould around body curves properly, hold their colour through NZ sun, and genuinely last. We've wrapped daily drivers, prestige cars, work utes, and everything between from our Swanson workshop. The vinyl goes on, the paint stays safe underneath, and you get a colour change or custom look that turns heads.

What are Vinyl Vehicle Wraps?

Modern cast vinyl films are a different animal from the wrap materials of even five years ago. They conform to compound curves without stress marks, resist fading through harsh UV, and hold up for years of daily driving. Whether you want a complete colour transformation or just some accent panels, vinyl delivers results that repainting simply can't match. And unlike paint, you can change your mind.

We do full colour change wraps, clear protective wraps, matte and satin finishes, gloss and metallic colours, carbon fibre and texture films, roof and accent wraps, and custom colour matching. We handle car wrap installations for everything from daily commuters to high-end vehicles.

Car enthusiasts, daily commuters, and prestige vehicle owners across Auckland come to Falcon Signs because our vinyl wraps look right on day one and still look right years later.

When You Need Us

When You Need Vinyl Vehicle Wraps

1

Complete Colour Transformation

New colour, new look. From classic gloss to matte, satin, or specialty textures. The whole vehicle changes character.

2

Paint Protection Investment

Brand new car? Wrap it. The vinyl takes the UV, the stone chips, and the scratches instead of your factory paint.

3

Lease Vehicle Personalisation

Make a lease car yours without permanent changes. The wrap comes off at lease end and the vehicle goes back in factory spec.

4

Prestige Vehicle Upgrade

Luxury and performance cars with a vinyl finish that complements their character while protecting paint that's expensive to fix.

5

Resale Preparation

Freshen up an older vehicle before selling. A vinyl wrap presents a clean, modern look that helps it sell.

6

Colour Exploration

Try that matte black you've been thinking about. If you're over it in two years, the wrap comes off. No commitment.

7

Matte and Satin Conversion

Convert gloss to matte or satin. It's a look that works particularly well on performance cars and photographs brilliantly.

8

Show Vehicle Preparation

Flawless vinyl for show cars, photography shoots, or events. The kind of finish that looks perfect under any lighting.

9

Business Vehicle Branding

Branded vinyl wraps for business vehicles. Advertising and paint protection in one.

10

Weekend Car Styling

Give the weekend project or track day car a look that matches its character.

Our Process

Our Vinyl Vehicle Wraps Process

01

Consultation

We talk about what you're after. A specific colour, a particular finish, a custom design. Understanding what you want helps us recommend the right materials and approach.

02

Vehicle Inspection

We go over the vehicle's current condition carefully. Paint quality, existing damage, panel alignment, surface prep requirements. All of this affects the wrap outcome and we'd rather know upfront than discover problems halfway through.

03

Colour and Finish Selection

Hundreds of options across gloss, matte, satin, metallic, chrome, colour-shift, carbon fibre, brushed metal. We've got physical samples so you can see and feel the actual material rather than guessing from a screen.

04

Surface Preparation

Everything comes off before the vinyl goes on. Wax, polish residue, tar, tree sap, environmental grime. Anything left behind causes bumps you can see or adhesion problems that develop over weeks.

05

Precision Application

Controlled heat, proper tools, and experienced hands. The vinyl gets conformed to curves without over-stretching (that's the number one cause of early failure), edges tucked into panel gaps, and everything sealed for a factory-finished look.

06

Detail Work

Mirrors, door handles, grilles, body creases. These areas take the most time and the most skill. Smooth transitions, proper sealing, no shortcuts.

07

Final Inspection

We check the whole vehicle under different lighting conditions. You get your car back with care instructions and everything you need to keep the vinyl looking good.

Why Choose Us

Why Choose Falcon Signs for Vinyl Vehicle Wraps?

Cast Vinyl Only

We use cast vinyl films, not calendered. Cast conforms better, resists shrinkage, and holds colour stability for years. It costs more. It's worth it.

Colours Paint Can't Touch

Hundreds of colours and finishes that don't exist in any automotive paint catalogue. From factory-match shades to things no manufacturer would dream of offering.

Totally Reversible

Change your mind, sell the car, return a lease. The wrap comes off and the original paint is right there, preserved.

Paint Protection Built In

The vinyl shields your paint from UV, stones, scratches, and general road wear. It's doing double duty from day one.

Climate-Controlled Workshop

Temperature and dust control matter for vinyl work. Our workshop maintains the right conditions regardless of what Auckland's weather is doing.

Manufacturer Warranties

The vinyl films we use come with manufacturer warranties covering colour stability, adhesion, and material performance. Not just our word, the material maker's too.

Frequently Asked Questions - Vinyl Vehicle Wraps

Cast vinyl gets poured into a mould as liquid, which produces a thin, flexible film that wraps around compound curves beautifully. Calendered vinyl is rolled into sheets, making it thicker and stiffer. We only use cast vinyl for vehicle wrapping because it conforms better, doesn't shrink back over time, and holds colour longer. Calendered stuff is fine for flat signage. On a car with curves? Problems.

With proper care, 5 to 7 years is typical for cast vinyl. NZ's UV is pretty harsh though, and darker colours may show wear before lighter ones. How you store the vehicle, whether it gets regular cleaning, and how much direct sun exposure it cops all factor in. We'll give you honest expectations based on your specific situation.

Opposite, actually. The vinyl protects the paint from UV, stone chips, and daily wear. When removed properly, the paint underneath is typically in better condition than unprotected panels that went through the same period. We've peeled wraps off after years and the paint looked nearly new.

The range is enormous. Standard colours, metallics, colour-shift, matte, satin, chrome, carbon fibre, brushed metal. Hundreds of options that automotive paint shops simply don't carry. Got a specific colour in mind? We can almost certainly source or match it.

Gloss for that traditional wet shine. Matte for flat, non-reflective. Satin, which sits between the two and honestly gets overlooked (it looks expensive and understated). Metallic for sparkle. Chrome for mirror effects. Brushed metal, carbon fibre, and colour-shift that changes hue as you walk around the car.

Hand wash with mild car soap and a soft mitt. That's the gold standard. Touchless auto washes are fine. Avoid brush washes because the bristles grab edges and lift them over time. Bird droppings and tree sap need cleaning off quickly because the enzymes can etch the surface. No abrasive cleaners, no wax products designed for paint. We'll give you a full care rundown at handover.

Usually, yes. A damaged panel can be rewrapped individually without replacing the whole vehicle's wrap. We match the existing colour and finish for the replacement section. Getting onto damage quickly matters though, because moisture sneaking under vinyl at a damaged edge can cause issues if left.
